The Department of Education at Washburn University invites applications for the position of Lecturer in teacher education. This is a non-tenure-track position with potential for renewal. Successful candidates must have appropriate academic preparation to teach courses in the Teacher Education Program, knowledge of new teacher development, and experience in and knowledge about education in public schools. Qualifications: The candidate must possess an earned Master Degree. Preferred qualifications include: knowledge of public education in Kansas; successful P-12 teaching experience; prior successful college teaching experience; and experience mentoring pre-service teachers or novice teachers.

Position Responsibilities:
The position includes a twelve hour teaching load per semester, teaching undergraduate courses in teacher education and collaborating with mentor teachers at Washburn University professional development school sites to deliver practicum experiences for pre-service teachers. Other teaching responsibilities could include teaching elementary pedagogical courses at the undergraduate level in an area appropriate for the successful candidates' qualifications and interests.
